Choosing something to watch can be difficult with so many streaming services competing for attention. On Monday, Nov. 2, Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, ESPN Unlimited and Tubi add a mix of movies, series, new episodes, podcasts and live events.

Among the highlighted releases is “Kidnapped in Her Own Home: The Martha Carelli Story” on Netflix. The true-crime film stars Stana Katic as Martha Carelli, whose family is held hostage by an escaped convict hiding in her basement. Forced to drive his getaway car, Martha secretly tries to leave clues for the authorities while searching for a way to survive.

HBO Max adds “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” the 2024 science-fiction action film set generations after Caesar’s reign. The story follows Noa, a young chimpanzee whose clan is attacked by the ape leader Proximus Caesar. His search for his captured family leads him to Mae, a human woman who challenges what both have been taught about humanity and ape society. The platform is also adding “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” and “War for the Planet of the Apes.”

Hulu’s featured film is “Black Bag,” a spy thriller starring Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett. Fassbender plays George Woodhouse, a British intelligence agent investigating whether his wife, Kathryn, has betrayed the country. The investigation forces him to balance his professional duty against his loyalty to his marriage.

Netflix’s other additions include “My Best Friend,” new season six episodes of “Masha and the Bear” and WWE Raw at 8 p.m. ET. Hulu also adds new episodes of “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “Between Steps,” “The Mob,” and the first seasons of “Desperately Devoted,” “The Promise: Finding My Mother’s Killer” and “Start Here.” New episodes of the podcasts “That Was Us” and “Handsome” are also listed on the service.

Disney+ will stream a new episode of “Between Steps,” a new “Pod Meets World” podcast episode and a new episode of “Handsome.” Season 35 of “Dancing with the Stars” is scheduled to stream live at 8 p.m. ET.

Peacock adds the 2022 film “The Outfit” and the premiere of “The Rise: The Women of Nascar.” Its live sports schedule includes college basketball, NBA and NHL games, including Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics vs. Houston Rockets, and Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors.

ESPN Unlimited lists women’s and men’s college basketball, several NHL games and the NFL matchup between the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks at 8:15 p.m. ET. Tubi adds “Wild Rose,” released in 2018.

The full lineup also includes college basketball games on HBO Max, while Hulu and Disney+ share the availability of “Between Steps” and “Handsome” on their respective services.
