Google is celebrating the upcoming release of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with an Easter egg inspired by the game’s iconic Master Sword. The original title was released in 1998, and the hidden feature recreates the look of Google from that era.
To find it, visit Google.com and search for “Zelda.” A Master Sword appears in the bottom-right corner of the results page. The weapon also appears when searching for “Master Sword.”
Clicking the sword triggers an animation in which it enters a pedestal, followed by a transition to a retro Google search page. The design includes classic blue links, the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button and the older “Google!” wordmark, which featured an exclamation point before it was removed in 1999.
The Easter egg may also play Céline Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” in the background. The recreated page does not include ads, AI Overviews or social media posts, offering a much simpler layout than the current version of Google Search.
The retro view is temporary. Searching for another term immediately returns the page to the current Google interface.
