Minky Couture blankets are presented as an everyday luxury gift: plush versions of an item people use at home, with a charitable mission tied to the brand’s origins. Founder Sandi Hendry started Minky in 2009 after making a cozy blanket for her daughter during an extended hospital stay.

The company says it supports neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), veterans and communities affected by natural disasters and other hardships. Its signature product is the HUGS™ blanket, described as an extra-plush, textured design. The range also includes baby and toddler blankets, travel-size options, seasonal and collegiate designs, outdoor blankets and bead-free weighted blankets, as well as robes, loungewear and wearable baby blankets.

Minky Couture also partnered with Apartment Therapy for a sunset gathering at Concrete Shoals on the East River. Guests used HUGS™ blankets as the autumn evening grew colder, while discussing holiday traditions, home rituals and gift-giving.
