Netflix is testing a new AI Discover tab designed to help viewers find shows and movies through themed recommendations. The company announced the feature on November 3, describing it as an experiment that will initially suggest titles based on themes and mood.

Themes include options such as “Scare Me,” “Family Movie Night” and “Quick Watches,” as well as categories based on trending titles or a viewer’s watch history. Each theme is paired with a clip. Selecting one brings up recommendations, while “Something Different” presents another set of themes.

Viewers can also use a “Tune Your Recommendations” button to keep a suggested title or remove it from their recommendations. Netflix says AI Discover is a “test kitchen” where usage and feedback will help the company decide which discovery features to retain or develop. Some may eventually appear in the main Netflix experience.

The tab is rolling out to English-language Netflix profiles in the United States on supported TVs, with availability expected to expand in the coming weeks. Users who have access should see a red gem labeled “Discover” in the top menu next to My Netflix.
