RedMagic has announced the 12 Pro, a $949 gaming phone with an 8,400-mAh battery—the biggest capacity yet in the company’s phone series. That is up from 7,500 mAh in the RedMagic 11 Pro and well above the 5,000-mAh batteries commonly found in mainstream flagship phones, according to the supplied report.

The battery powers a 6.85-inch display with 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. Select games, including PUBG Mobile, will support that rate, while Genshin Impact and Asphalt Legends are listed as titles optimized for higher graphics settings. The screen has a 16-megapixel front camera beneath it, leaving the display without a camera cutout. Two shoulder-style sensors can be mapped to in-game controls.

The 12 Pro is among the first phones to go on sale in the US with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. RedMagic has included a 25,500-rpm cooling fan and a liquid cooling system, along with 50-megapixel main and ultrawide rear cameras.

The $949 starting price covers a model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A version with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs $1,049, while the 1TB model is priced at $1,199. The starting price is $100 higher than the RedMagic 11S Pro’s launch price for the same memory and storage configuration.

The phone ships with Android 17. RedMagic’s update commitment is two years of software updates and three years of security updates. An early-bird voucher period begins Nov. 12, ahead of official purchases starting Nov. 17; open sales are scheduled for Nov. 18.
