Apple’s latest iOS release extends Find My tracking to second-generation Siri Remotes from 2021 and later. Owners can now locate a misplaced remote using an iPhone, alongside their other Apple devices.
To look for a remote, open the Find My app and select its Devices section. Compatible Siri Remotes should appear there; tapping Find brings up a radar-style screen to help locate one. Previously, users could find a Siri Remote through Control Center.
The newest Siri Remote offers additional locating features: Precision Finding to guide users toward its hiding place, and a built-in speaker that plays a chime. The Apple TV also has onboard microphones, allowing users to search for the remote with a voice command.
The new Apple TV 4K is scheduled to go on sale Nov. 13 for $300. Earlier generations typically cost between $129 and $199, while Roku and Amazon offer streaming devices starting at $30.
